Samsung is now planning to launch a smaller version of their best-selling handset tomorrow to compete against Apple succesful 4 inch iPhone 5.
The new handset will be named the “S3 mini” and will have a 4 inch screen installed rather than a 4.8 inch screen seen on the original S3.
Samsung are stating that even though this will be smaller, this isn’t a “budget” phone. The device specifications have yet to be announced, but some suggest that it will be powered by a 1 Ghz processor with 1GB of RAM. For taking photos we’ll have a 5 megapixel shooter to play with and a 800 x 480 Super AMOLED touchscreen display with 16GB of storage.
Samsung are aiming to launch the S3 mini in the UK in time for the launch of their new 4G network which will be coming on the 30th of October.
Head of Samsung’s mobile communications said “There’s a lot of demand for a 4in screen device in Europe. Some call it an entry-level device, but we call it ‘mini”
What do you think of this, would you prefer the mini over the original?
